About UsThe Junior League of Mexico City is part of the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI), formed by 294 leagues in the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Mexico. 190,000 members worldwide participate in many charitable projects. As a non-profit organization, the JLMC is registered and has a legal I.A.P. status (Institution of Private Assistance), and complies with the laws and regulations governing such bodies in Mexico. For more than seven decades, the JLMC has researched the needs of the Mexican community and designed projects and programs that address these needs. These programs are administered by the JLCM until they reach maturity and can be given back to the community, thus enabling the JLCM to start new programs. The JLMC regards volunteer work as a profession. Training and personal development is the backbone to its success. New volunteers are required to attend a series of modular workshops covering time management, delegation, teamwork, finance and practical hands on projects before they become active members. All members attend regular training courses to keep their skills up to date and to keep abreast of new developments. |
